Shelley is about to enter her final year at Deakin of Nursing and Midwifery. Her biggest passion in life is caring and empowering vulnerable people and helping them live their best lives. Throughout her Uni degree she has had experience in different metro and regional hospitals whilst having multiple jobs in disability, piano teaching, volunteering, retail and hospitality. She strives to always be present, and create a safe space for clients to express themselves, whilst supporting them to make informed decisions and through their good and bad days.

Since working in healthcare, Shelley witnessed our National healthcare and disability system get away with too many injustices and poor-quality care. She is excited to be a part of a team that genuinely cares about people and values them as individuals who have the ability to live full and empowered lives.

Shelley’s favourite ways to practice self-care are: spending time outside, being active, baking, playing the piano and taking some down time for myself. She encourages her clients to discover new avenues to channel their emotions, creativity and confidence! She has found that exercise, music and a good laugh are powerful tools that have personally helped her throughout her mental health journey.
